Sustainability Coaching

This relatively new concept encompasses a wide range of support to SME’s, which ensures the principle of “On-going” of your businesses from one financial year to the next. This will involve discussions around the resilience of your business model:

  • creating the right sort of “Vision” that is sustainable in a rapidly changing, oil scarce, expensive energy world. This will include the new Energy Resilience Assessment (ERA), which identifies exposure to oil and energy price fluctuations for any company or organization
  • investigating the “Onstage” aspect of your Marketing and Sales to understand  how sustainability the processes fit your business model
  • ensuring that you access your full potential and that of your “Actors” and how your Team fit together, whether they be internally employed or externally recruited.
  • developing the most effective processes for your “Backstage” processes and supply chains to ensure continuous sustainability.

If one considers what one's company provides rather like a play, made up of the following:

  • Theatre - Vision, strategy and products and services supplied by the company
  • Backstage - Administration, internal processes and supply chain of the company
  • Actors - Team of directors and employees all behaving in the right way, saying the right thing
  • Onstage - Marketing and Sales in front of the customer, whether it be face to face or on-line, getting the message across

All of the above must work in harmony with each other in a sustainable way in the right order with each person playing his or her part saying the right words at the right time, so that the play gets across to the audience.

The Situation

Businesses are a key component of any community, providing local jobs and products. For a community (and indeed a nation) to build resilience, its local businesses, public products and organisations must work sustainably to reduce wastage of human effort, effective use of assets, reduced carbon emissions and dependence on fossil fuels.

The increased legal implications of employing people if things go wrong, the fluctuating cost of oil, the potential impacts of global warming on trade and the current economic climate all raise levels of uncertainty and risks.

As economic and price pressures increase, companies will look for help to quantify their own exposure and understand what mitigating action could be taken short-term, as well as exploring how their own business strategy and operations can fundamentally change in a playing field, which is drastically different. Our people profiling, diagnostic checks and ERA have been designed to help this process.

Our Offer

A set of workshops and engagements, which cover the four areas mentioned above –Theatre, Onstage, Backstage and Actors and are carried out in the following format:

  • Introduction Presentation lasting approximately 2 hours. This is a strategic workshop and is normally held for owners and directors initially.
  • Awareness Workshops ranging from ½ day to a whole day depending upon the numbers of people involved. This workshop normally starts with the owners and directors of the company and then is offered to line management.
  • Assessments like the Energy Resilience Assessment or Team Motivator Assessment can be carried out on the whole of the company or organisation, or part of it. The amount of time this assessment takes, depends upon the complexities involved and the scope required by the company or organisation, but normally they last between 2 and 5 days. Depending on the size of the company the assessment would be:
  • Innovation Seminars where we work with clients to identify, create, develop and produce innovative solutions and products for the Green Economy.
