Team development questions

As part of the process of business coaching and mentoring it is very necessary to help people understand what sort of questions are required to build teams. This tip sheet provides some questions to start the ball rolling and help you consider what you need to do to develop a team-working climate that will clarify the “now” and the “future”. Team development is all about communication between team members and thius will help define goals, objectives and agendas.

After reading this you will:

  • have greater understanding about how people react in different circumstances.
  • understand how different people communicate
  • realise how different activities mean different things to different people
  • be able to fathom out what are some of the many perspectives involved when you develop teams – words, gestures, behaviour, thinking patterns, health and energy, etc…
  • realise how the past, present and future mean different things to different people

Team Development Questions

  • What are current team development activities that generate positive business outcomes?
  • Who are the leaders?
  • What is not happening that you would like to see become the ‘norm’ for your champion team?
  • What do you and your team feel, think and see collectively and as individuals the potential obstacles to developing a champion team approach?
